2018 Projects Named As Finalists for Best Real Estate Deals
With over $500 million in projects finishing in 2018, the Allen Economic Development Corporation is receiving recognition as a partner for deals in a variety of categories.

The new headquarters for WatchGuard Video, which opened in June 2018, has been named a finalist for: CoreNet North Texas Black, White and Blue Awards of Excellence; D-CEO’s Commercial Real Estate Awards, and the Dallas Business Journal’s Best Real Estate Deals of 2018. WatchGuard Video, the leading provider of mobile video solutions for law enforcement, focused on creating a beautiful and comfortable environment that improved the work-life balance for their 500 employees. This 140,000-square-foot office is part of a 12-acre campus that combines the latest in technology with features that attract and retain talent.
The Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen and Watters Creek Convention Center is a unique $91 million project that has been named a finalist for CoreNet as well as the Dallas Business Journal’s awards. The center features: 300 premium guest rooms; 90,000-square-feet of flexible convention, ballroom, meeting and exhibit space; and a restaurant and bar by renowned Dallas Chef Stephan Pyles, who moved his iconic Stampede 66 restaurant from uptown to the new Allen location.
The Watters Creek District, which includes One Bethany at Watters Creek, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen and Watters Creek Convention Center and Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm mixed-use center, has been named a finalist by the Dallas Business Journal. With the focus on walkability for tenants, visitors and residents, the One Bethany at Watters Creek District offers the only truly walkable center in Collin County. Kaizen Development Partners, developer of the One Bethany office park, was also named a finalist for D-CEO’s Developer of the Year award.
The Collin College Technical Campus, a 340,000 square-foot career and technical facility was named a finalist in the Education award category for the Dallas Business Journal. The three-story campus, which broke ground in Allen in September 2018, is scheduled to open Fall 2020.
Winners for each of these prestigious awards will be announced in April.
