Dan Bowman

Dan Bowman

Executive Director / CEO

Daniel Bowman is a native of Allen, Texas and was named Executive Director/CEO of the Allen Economic Development Corporation in 2014 after 10 years with the organization. He was recognized in the Top 40 under 40 by the International Economic Development Council and has been instrumental in recruiting corporate projects including Cisco Systems, KONE Elevators and MonkeySports.

His background and focus on community collaboration has led him to a number of community leadership roles with the Kiwanis Club, Leadership Allen and other civic organizations. He is a graduate of Trinity University and the University of Texas at Dallas, where he earned his MBA.

David Ellis, CEcD

Assistant Director

As the Assistant Director, David leads programs to attract and retain corporate investment and jobs to Allen. Previously, he was a vice president at Site Selection Group where he supported its industrial, economic development and incentive practices. He has also worked for Plano Economic Development and has experience with Angelou Economics, an economic development consulting firm.

David, a native of Oklahoma City, has a Bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).

Tracey Cline

Business Retention & Expansion Manager

Tracey’s passion for people and willingness to do whatever it takes keeps the AEDC active in the Allen community. She previously worked at YUM Brands, where she won Customer Maniac of the Year award. Prior to Yum Brands, she worked for Brinker International, Perot Systems and the FDIC where she won numerous STAR awards and served as the Special Events Chair. Tracey’s involvement in the Allen community resulted in her receiving the 2009 Spirit of Allen / Citizen of the Year Award.

Melissa Dixon

Melissa Dixon

Office Manager

Melissa has extensive experience managing offices and has worked within several industries including medicine, plumbing, and construction. She uses the collective knowledge to assist the AEDC in managing their day to day office operations as well as interacting with our local business community.

She graduated with honors from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating in Business and Psychology. She also holds a second degree in Medical Office Systems from Pensacola Christian College.

Andrew Matheny

Andrew Matheny

Economic Development Analyst

Andrew’s background combines economic development, economics, and urban planning to conduct research and data analysis for the AEDC.

He has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently attending the University of Texas at Arlington for a Master’s in City and Regional Planning. During his graduate education, he has received several appointments as a Graduate Research Assistant investigating the economic impacts of transportation investment and improved accessibility and developing a model to score the bike friendliness of different locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. He also counts humanitarian mapping as a hobby, assisting the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team in creating digital maps that improve disaster response and humanitarian work around the world.
